I love Thanksgiving and not just because of the delicious food. I love that we are reminded to be thankful.
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
Too often we are caught up in what we don’t have, what we can’t afford and what we think we deserve. This type of thinking fosters depression, discontent and frustration. It robs us of our joy and keeps us from being fully present. We miss out on so much beauty.
Focusing on what we’re thankful for, especially the little things, the often overlooked things, makes room for joy. The more gratitude we have, the more joyful our lives become. As we practice gratitude we learn to savor each moment we are given. We find delight and beauty in things we once overlooked. Our eyes open to the wonder and magic in the world and our faith is restored.
So let us give thanks; we have much to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving,
