Longtime collaborators Tara Craig and Goodbye, Beautiful have released two new songs that capture opposite sides of the same coin. At the start of the year, searching for light in heavy times, they wrote “Flood The Zone,” a song rooted in unity and hope. It carries the spirit of an anthem—reminding us that togetherness and resilience can push back against chaos.

As the year unfolded and circumstances grew darker, the pair asked themselves what the counterbalance might be. The answer came in “Gilded Bastards,” a raw, driving track that turns frustration into defiance. Where “Flood The Zone” uplifts, “Gilded Bastards” burns—a striking contrast that shows the breadth of their collaboration.

For Tara Craig, known for her folk-pop and singer-songwriter roots, stepping into high-energy rock was unexpected, but the urgency of the moment gave her something sharp to say. The result is bold, blistering, and unlike anything she’s done before.

Though written and recorded from different states, the songs feel like they were created in the same room—immediate, natural, and alive. Together, “Flood The Zone” and “Gilded Bastards” reveal the duality of hope and resistance.

These two songs will be released as a limited edition 7" vinyl, with all profits donated to The Trevor Project and The ACLU.

About

Longtime collaborators Goodbye, Beautiful and Tara Craig have released two songs that capture opposite sides of the same coin.

The double single release showcases two distinct yet complementary facets of modern resistance:

  • "Gilded Bastards" unleashes unbridled RAGE. With raw, biting lyrics, the track is a direct indictment of systemic corruption, powerful oligarchs, and the pervasive injustices that shape our world. Its aggressive, hard-hitting sound is a battle cry for accountability and a fierce refusal to stand idly by.
  • "Flood the Zone" counters with IRRESISTIBLE JOY. This vibrant, energetic anthem champions the power of community, love, and collective positivity as the ultimate act of defiance. It’s a call to overwhelm despair with connection, to build networks where tyrants can’t thrive. The track embodies the philosophy that joy itself can be a revolutionary force, inspiring listeners to unite and find strength in shared purpose.

"We believe that true resistance requires both confronting what's wrong and vigorously building what's right," says Craig. "The ACLU is on the front lines, fighting the legal battles against injustice, while The Trevor Project provides crucial support and a beacon of hope for LGBTQ+ youth, helping them find their own 'irresistible joy' in a world that often tries to dim their light."

The limited edition 7” vinyl will be a collector's item, symbolizing a tangible contribution to civil liberties and LGBTQ+ rights. Fans are encouraged to purchase on BandCamp Friday, December 5th, where 100% of profits from sales will directly benefit these two organizations. Additionally, both artists are matching donations 1:1, tripling the impact.

"Flood the Zone | Gilded Bastards" is a testament to the power of music as a catalyst for change, inviting listeners to engage with both their anger and their hope, and to turn both into actionable support.

Press / Reviews

Taken together, “Flood The Zone” + “Gilded Bastards” function as a kind of secular gospel—music with genuine transformative ambition. ”

Indie Boulevard Magazine

Tara Craig and Goodbye, Beautiful electrify with their new collaborative singles. “Flood the Zone” and “Gilded Bastards” serve as necessary, barn-burning rallying cries for the exhausting times in which we find ourselves.”

B-Sides & Badlands

“Flood The Zone” and “Gilded Bastards” succeed with their melodic prowess and intertwined thematic pursuits — both capturing darkening societal decay, driven by greed and immoral leadership, while differing in deliveries of empowerment and escapism, respectively.”

Obscure Sound

The deliberate pairing as A-side/B-side rather than separate singles creates conversation between tracks. Vinyl format enforces that relationship—you can’t shuffle past the unity to get to the defiance, or vice versa. The physical medium matters here, demanding listeners engage with both emotional registers in sequence. That choice reflects understanding that hope and resistance aren’t opposites but requirements, different strategies for the same survival. ”
