Forgotten Home

I’m new in town, yeah I’m new here
But it feels so familiar, like I’ve already lived a life here
Getting here was a journey, more like a battle sometimes
And I’m road worn and threadbare
I’ve got desert dirt on my boots and under my fingernails
and I’ve lost so much, I’m not sure I can keep anything

You feel like a forgotten home
Foreign and uncharted

I’ve been on the road so long, I’m ready sit for awhile
Settle in, unpack, take my shoes off

You feel like a forgotten home
Foreign and uncharted

So lets, lets just cut the bullshit
We both know what we want and its this and this alone
but we’re have to drive around a little
We’re gonna have to get lost a few times
Until we learn the landmarks and the landmines

Until we learn the speed traps
and know all the the sharp curves
Until we know the best place to pull over on the side of the road
and make out

I wanna drive all back country roads
I wanna know where kids all go to get stoned
I wanna swim in all the best swimming holes
I wanna find the best place to see the stars
especially mars
and just lay there
just lay there
and watch the earth spin

You feel like a forgotten home
Foreign and uncharted
You feel like a forgotten home
Foreign and uncharted
